2026-2027 Board Members

These board members are volunteers and are dedicated to providing you the support you need.

We're glad you're here! The OBPTO is a volunteer organization and we represent ALL families at Old Bonhomme. Your voice matters and your participation in the OBPTO makes a difference for all of the children of Old Bonhomme. The OBPTO funds field trips, class parties, social events for families, teacher mini-grants, technology, and much more. Our volunteers also give their time helping out in classrooms, planning and staffing events, and spreading love to the amazing staff at OB.

We welcome all parents and guardians to be actively involved, either by volunteering for an event or committee or by making a tax-deductible annual contribution.

Jessica Lee, Co-President

 

I am excited for another year in the role of Co-President.  This will be my second year in the position, also having served in other PTO positions since my family joined the Old Bonhomme community. This year my children will be in second and third grade and I can’t wait to continue to support the great work the PTO offers to all children and families within OB. Outside of the PTO I am an attorney focusing on professional ethics and healthcare compliance. My family and I enjoy hiking, watching movies, and cuddling with our many animals.

Rubria Mendoza, Co-President

 

My name is Rubria Mendoza. My family and I have been in Olivette for six years. We have two girls (entering 7^th and 4^th grade).  I work in management, and when I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love reading, dancing, road trips, music, and are always open to trying new things!

 

We love the OB community and have been impressed with the number of opportunities the teachers and parents create for our kids, fostering a culture of collaboration, empathy, and togetherness.

 

I am excited to be part of the OB PTO this school year, as a form of gratitude and retribution to the school that has and continues to make a difference in the lives of the kids.

Latasha Wren, VP Fundraising

 

I am excited to begin my first year serving on the Old Bonhomme PTO Board as Vice President of Fundraising. This is our family’s second year at Old Bonhomme, and I am the proud mom of a wonderful third-grade boy. We have truly enjoyed becoming part of the OB community and are looking forward to another great school year.

I’m excited to help support our students, teachers, and families by bringing fresh ideas and energy to our fundraising efforts. Outside of school and work, my son and I love to travel, explore new places, and try new foods together. I’m grateful for the opportunity to become more involved with the PTO and look forward to helping make this a fun and successful year for the Old Bonhomme community.

Liz Samson, VP Events

 

This is my family’s second year in the Old Bonhomme community as my oldest son, Will, heads to first grade and my younger son, Miles, starts Pre-K at OB. Outside of my career in technology consulting, I spend most of my time chasing after my two boys alongside my husband, Matt, and our sweet dog, Finley. I’m excited to take on the role of VP of Events this year to help create fun, memorable experiences that bring our kids, families and teachers together!

Katherine Turner, Co-Treasurer

 

I'm grateful to join the Board for a fourth year as co-treasurer; it's a privilege to serve Old Bonhomme and the community at large. I have a son in first grade and a daughter at the FGC, so I look forward to many more wonderful years at Old Bonhomme! 

 

In addition to managing our busy family, I maintain my RN license while pursuing a MSN.

 

I also serve on our neighborhood Board of Trustees and enjoy reading, walking, and fun family adventures when time allows.

Jim Madi, Co-Treasurer

 

I am thankful to be one of the Co-Treasurers for the PTO! I currently have 2 kids at OB (4th and 1st grade) and one at LECC. I work as an accountant and am excited to use those experiences in my role at OB! Our kids keep us busy playing sports around town, and I'm assistant coaching one of the OB 1st grade soccer teams this fall. 

 

Our family loves adventuring around St. Louis and ends up finding reasons to go to the Missouri Botanical Gardens most months out of the year.

Phillip Huiswoud, Co-Treasurer

 

My name is Phillip Huiswoud and I’m originally from Washington D.C. My wife (who grew up in St. Louis) and I moved to St. Louis in 2012. We’ve lived in a few areas but settled into the Olivette area in summer 2025. I’m excited to join the PTO board and look forward to using my accounting skillsets to help our children and teachers have a better school experience.

Stacy Lee, Corresponding Secretary

 

My family moved to St. Louis six years ago, and we are so thankful to have found such a vibrant and welcoming community here at Old Bonhomme. My daughter, Luna, will be in 2nd grade, and my son, Leo, will be joining OB for the first time as a kindergartener. I’ve been so impressed and grateful for the wonderful OB staff and PTO members, so I’m excited to join the PTO as Corresponding Secretary this year. Johanna Powers, Recording Secretary

 

I’m happy to be joining the PTO board this year to get more involved in this great community. I have two kids at OB, a kindergartener (Eden) and 2nd grader (Levi), as well as a 5th grader (Selah). I work part time in marketing and full time keeping up with our family’s busy schedule. I also enjoy volunteering in kids ministry at our church, traveling, and reading.

Renee Phillips, Parent District Council Representative

 

Hello! I have two rambunctious, fun-loving boys who attend Ladue. The 2026-27 school year will be my ninth and final with a kiddo at Old Bonhomme! It goes so fast and we've loved being a part of this special Old Bonhomme community as friends and classmates grow. I've previously served on the board as Corresponding Secretary and am proud to serve as Parent District Representative for 26-27. Design and travel lover. Bad but enthusiastic dancer. Side hustles include chauffeuring a multitude of children's sports and activities, painting and home design. Professionally I have a background in Marketing including brand design, voice, art direction and communications, skills I lean on when supporting Old Bonhomme. Best bribed by tacos and happy hours. Tanya Hamilton, Advisor to the Board and Parent District Council Representative

 

I am entering my fifth year as an active member of the Old Bonhomme PTO Board. During my daughter’s time at Old Bonhomme, I have had the privilege of serving as Recording Secretary for one year, Co-President for three years, and now as Senior Advisor and Parent District Council Representative for the 2026–2027 school year.

I am the proud mom of an amazing fourth grader, and I am excited to continue serving and supporting our school community. I love finding unique and creative ways to bring joy, connection, and excitement to our students, teachers, and parents.

In addition to the OBPTO, I serve as a Trustee on my neighborhood Association Board and as an active member of the St. Louis Association of REALTORS®.  When I’m not working full-time as a real estate agent, I love traveling, spending time outdoors, and going on new adventures with my daughter. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue giving back to the Old Bonhomme community and helping make it an amazing place for our children and families.
